United Kingdom is experimenting a period of uncertainty, a recession of some sorts is going on at many fields, ones are more preoccupant than others of course, but none of them cannot be ignored. People are tense, and business even more… everyone is thinking of a plan B and even C regarding of what other events could happen that will break the chains of unknown data and then open controversy.

Companies of universal conquest and work are also seeing a few problems with all of those issues; one of them is related to the communications field and the social media co – Facebook.

Fake news! A delicate topic for one media that wants to be in good words with everybody and also expand to all corners and fields of the modern world; the conservative party of the United Kingdom are putting their finger in Facebook’s direction since there has been going on a non-stop strike of fake news that supposedly aim to damage the ideology and concept of democracy and integration within the great region, so there has been studies for a possible demand regarding the social media brand.

Taking for example past events such as sets of fake stories that rallied against the US election season of last year, one of the MP leaders called Damian Collins claims that Facebook has not been addressing the very much alive and clear issue, wherever the origin is from a page or a user, those are really fake news that are looking for the one goal of setting up campaigns against the democracy process that are normal on the UK.

Those contents that are not verified at all and are mostly speculative can influence through viral phases, in the decision of citizens. Making a great deal of % to consider voting based on lies and bad pieces of information.

Users fault?

The MP stated that it is of global interest and not only the UK, that Facebook and other media, start to revise that issue, since of course people can express their own opinions and perceptions about everything, also their own experiences, it is not of anyone’s interest that fictional pieces of information are spread with such intensity, people are going to get mad, not only leaders of economic, political or other activist aspects, but also regular citizen and society in its purest form.

Nobody deserves to be dismissed of the truth with such easiness, people will surely require to be more conscious about the information they share but the main problem is the origin of such publications that begin spreading those contents.

Just as any other responsible company, the social network is already revising the rightful and doable methods to treat the situation, like the inclusion of specified labels to stories that are lacking sources, and the investigation of third parties that don’t have verified users within them.

Nevertheless, the reaction to this events may be just preventive because the real power of fake news have yet to be proved, studies to determine the realness of that suggestion regarding elections are being done just now.
